Yes, there are certain types of grants available for people looking to get a new stairlift, more details can be obtained at: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/housing/housing_grants_and_schemes/housing_adaptation_grant_for_people_with_disability.html
Normally the most usual issues with stairlifts can be batteries, but other than that some other issues can be wiring or mechanical related such as microswitches, PCB boards and motors.
There’s not really an easy way of calculating cost but there is a call out fee and labour for any repair services. Some parts like switches range from €30 up to full motors spanning hundreds of euros. Each product is different and we ALWAYS try to ensure our prices are as competitive as possible.

We actually provide a better warranty than the manufacturer if you get it serviced every 12 months. You will get a full 2 year parts and labour warranty on any faults or issues except for batteries as they are a “wear and tear” item.
The stairlift is actually powered with batteries and they recharge at the top or bottom of the rail, these stairlifts will work during a power cut thanks to them batteries.
For straight stairlifts we can normally have it fitted within 2 hours of arriving to your door, however the curved stairlifts would require up to a day usually depending on how complicated the stairs are.
Your stairlift and rail should be wiped down and dusted every month or so, we actually recommend using the likes of “Mr Sheen” on the stairlift rail as it prevents dirt sticking to it and can help the rollers last longer.
Apart from that we do recommend getting your stairlift serviced every 12 months to ensure it’s operating correctly and to see any potential issues that could be developing before letting it deteoriate.
This depends! If you have a straight stairs and the type of stairlift required is the standard straight model then we can fit a lift within a day or two of confirmation. If the stairs has bends and requires a curved stairlift then the turnaround time is 3 to 6 weeks. This is due to the fact that the rail has to be made exactly to suit your stairs.
If there’s a door immediately at the bottom of the stairs then we would normally recommend a “hinge rail” so it can be stored and not be a trip hazard when not in use.
No, stairlifts are fitted directly to the stairs with at least 4 mounting brackets and would be more secure than a wall.
